For customers of our Position Management module utilizing our ClearCo integration.
Our bidirectional integration allows you to create requisitions in Built, utilize our configurable approval flow, and then send the requisitions to ClearCo. You can also connect requisitions imported from ClearCo to positions in Built.
Connecting Built and ClearCo
To begin implementing your integration, please contact your ClearCo account manager. After connecting Built to ClearCo, daily automatic imports will be enabled. You may also initiate a manual import from ClearCo at any time.
We recommend creating a Requisition custom field in ClearCo, allowing you to send Built position IDs for requisitions. To do this, click the Tools dropdown, then click Setup. Locate the Recruiting Setup section, click Custom Fields, select Requisition Custom Fields, and then select New Requisition Field. Enter the field name, “Built Position ID,” set the answer type to Single Field, and click Save and Submit.
Sending Built Requisitions to ClearCo
Built’s Customer Success Team will work with you to configure your integration. By default, requisition data sent from Built to ClearCo will include the information listed in the table below. Alternatively, you can request a custom dataset to meet your organization’s needs.
While our requisition approval workflows help your team ensure the appropriate approvals, admins can skip pending approvers or bypass a requisition’s approval process when flexibility is needed.

* To successfully send requisitions to ClearCo, field data sent from Built must already exist in your organization’s ClearCo account. If the data cannot be matched to an existing option in ClearCo, you will be prompted to select from the available options. For example, if a requisition’s department is identified as Sales in Built, a Sales department must also exist in ClearCo.
Notes about sending requisitions to ClearCo:
Requisitions in ClearCo can only have one assigned recruiter. If a requisition sent from Built has more than one assigned recruiter, a recruiter will automatically populate in ClearCo based on the first matching result. We recommend updating recruiters in ClearCo before sending Built requisitions.
Once a Built requisition is sent to ClearCo, only the requisition’s status in ClearCo will be automatically updated in Built. By default, the requisition’s status in ClearCo will be set to On Hold.
The ClearCo API does not currently support sending or importing the number of openings on a requisition.
Importing Requisitions from ClearCo
Refer to the table below to learn about the data requirements for manually or automatically importing requisitions from ClearCo.

To configure the frequency and notifications for automatic imports:
Navigate to Company Settings > Imports.
Locate the ClearCo Import Settings section and click Edit.
If not yet enabled, select Yes to enable automatic imports.
Select your desired import frequency.
Enter an email address for automated import notifications.
To disable automatic imports:
Navigate to Company Settings > Imports.
Locate the ClearCo Import Settings section and click Edit. In the Enable Automatic Imports field, select No.
To manually import requisition data from ClearCo:
Only Company Admins, HR Admins, and HR Managers can import data into Built.
From Built’s main navigation, navigate to the Recruiting page.
Click the import icon.
Once the import is complete, click View Requisitions.
To connect requisitions to positions in Built:
Navigate to the Recruiting page.
To find the requisition you want to connect to a position, filter the list by the requisition status, or use the search field.
To open a requisition, click the req ID or title.Locate the Position ID column and click the Connect Position button.
Enter the title or position ID of the position you want to connect.
It is possible to connect a requisition to multiple positions in Built.Once you have listed all the positions you want to connect, click Save.
Notes about connecting requisitions to positions in Built:
You can view data for requisitions connected to Built positions in the Positions table and Position Management reports by enabling the following data options: Req ID, Req Status, External Req ID, and External Req Status. Data will not be displayed for connected Built requisitions with Denied, Canceled, or Closed statuses. Data will not be displayed for connected imported requisitions with Filled or Canceled statuses.
Imported requisition data will not update connected positions in Built.
Disconnecting Your ClearCo Integration
If you’d like to disconnect your ClearCo integration, please contact our Customer Success Team for assistance.
Future imports cannot be initiated after disconnecting ClearCo from your Built account.
