Access to position data varies based on individual role permissions. Items marked with an asterisk (*) have access restrictions based on compensation and/or budget permissions. Learn more about managing user roles and permissions.
Position Management Page
From the main menu, you can access the Position Management page and then locate the needed information by navigating the tabs at the top of the page.
Positions
Manage data for all positions in your organization on the Positions table. Choose the data you want to display by clicking the equalizer icon, clicking the search field, and then using the checkboxes to select your data columns* before clicking Save. Utilize additional buttons at the top of the page to filter, export, or import your position list. Create a position by clicking the + Add Position button. Clicking the three-dot menu next to any position ID allows you to edit or remove the position, copy the position ID, view position history, or view the position on your official chart.
Job Architecture
Click the appropriate button to manage job definitions, job families, career ladders, job levels, or pay grades for your positions.
Insights
Your position insights summarize data to help inform organizational planning. View the data most relevant to your organization by adjusting your displayed insights widgets. Learn about the Position Management Insights widgets.
Funding Sources
Create funding sources in Built before assigning them to positions.
Settings
Your Position Management settings allow you to define your organization’s position statuses, variable pay types, and allocation types.
Position Management Reports
Access detailed reports tailored to specific position data by navigating from the main menu to the Reports page. On each report, you can select or deselect data columns by clicking the equalizer icon in the upper-left corner, clicking the search field, and then using the checkboxes to make the desired selections. You can also drag and drop data columns to rearrange them. Additional buttons at the top of each report allow you to filter and export your data.
Org Chart
From the main menu, you can access your official chart or a scenario chart by navigating to the Org Chart page and clicking the chart dropdown to select the chart you’d like to display. Apply visualization tools to view your chart as of a past date, select your preferred data and display options, manage chart sections, color code your chart, reference key metrics, and more.
Info Panel
Quickly access a data summary for a position/person in Built by hovering over a position card, position ID, employee ID, or an individual’s name and clicking the info panel icon that appears. When the panel opens, you can view the desired information on the Position or Person tab. Show or hide panel sections for all positions/people in your Built account by clicking the gear icon in the upper-right corner, and then making the appropriate selections. You can also drag and drop sections to reorder them.
Your position list, Position Management reports, and Position Management insights account for all positions in Built, including those not on your official chart. However, your chart’s key metrics summarize data only for positions on the chart. Customers of our ADP Workforce Now®, ADP Vantage HCM®, isolved®, and Paylocity integrations can identify positions not on their official chart on the Chart Builder panel located within the chart’s visualization tools.
