Add, assign, and update company assets.

For customers of our Position Management module.


To add and assign a company asset in Built:

Only Company Admins, HR Admins, HR Managers, and Assets Admins can manage assets from the Assets page and assign assets to anyone in the organization. Limited Admins can only assign and edit assets for individuals within their specified scope from their profiles. Learn more about managing user roles and permissions.

  1. From the main menu, navigate to the Assets page.

  2. Click the + Add Asset button in the upper right corner.

  3. When the Add Asset window opens, enter the asset’s name, date placed in service, and any additional information you’d like to include.

  4. To assign the asset, click the Assigned To dropdown and select Person or Position before entering an individual’s name or title.

  5. Click Save. The newly created asset will appear in the Assets table.

    To select your table’s displayed data columns, click the equalizer icon at the top of the page and use the checkboxes provided. To add custom asset fields to your available options, enter the field name in the search field. Drag and drop to rearrange your data columns as needed.

To edit, unassign, or delete a company asset:

When viewing the Assets page, click the three-dot menu next to the desired asset and choose the appropriate option:

Edit: Make the needed changes before clicking Save.

Unassign: Unassign the individual from the asset.

Delete: Delete the asset from Built. Click the Delete button to confirm this action.

Assets can also be added, assigned/unassigned, and edited (but not deleted) from an individual’s profile on the Assets tab.
