For customers of our ADP Workforce Now integration.

People Imported by Default

By default, all individuals with an Active or Leave status in ADP Workforce Now will be imported into Built. Individuals with a Deceased, Retired, or Terminated status in ADP are automatically excluded from the initial import, but future imports will include termination status updates.

To include only specific people or groups in the ADP Workforce Now import:

  1. Log in to your ADP Workforce Now account.

  2. From the ADP Workforce Now homepage, click the SETUP dropdown in the upper toolbar.

  3. When the menu opens, locate Security, then click Access Permissions.

  4. Click the Manage People button.

  5. Locate the search field in the upper right corner of the Access Permissions table and search the word “Built”.

If one or more filters are already selected, you must first click the X to remove the filter(s) before successfully locating “For, Built.”

  6. When the list populates, click the user name For, Built.

  7. When the User Access Permissions page opens, click the People Access tab, then click the Change Access button.

  8. Click the desired option to confirm whether you want Built to import a specific selection of people or all people:

•Access to Specific Selection of People: After choosing this option, click the appropriate tab to confirm how you'd like to select who's included in your import:

Select People Individually: Use the checkboxes provided to select individuals.

Select Groups of People: Click the Field Name dropdown and select the appropriate identifier to filter a group of people, such as Business Unit, Company Code, Job Title, or Location. Then, click the Comparison dropdown to make the desired selection for the grouping selected, such as is equal to or is not equal to. Click the Field Value dropdown to make the appropriate selection. As an example, to include people with company code 1234 from your import, you’d select the field value 1234 after selecting the field name, Company Code, and is equal to for your comparison. However, if you wanted to exclude people with company code 1234, you’d select is not equal for your comparison.

•View & Edit Access to All People: Selecting this option will ensure all individuals are imported into Built.

  9. Click Done.

To review the list of selected individuals, click View List of Selected People. You can also use the search bar to search specific individuals, ensuring they’re included or excluded from your People Access list.

Notes about ADP imports:

  • Excluding people already stored in Built from future imports will not delete the individuals in Built—it will only prevent additional data from being imported for those individuals. Existing data will remain until you delete it from Built.

  • When utilizing the ADP Workforce Now® Bidirectional API, imports will be disabled when there are unsent changes, outstanding errors, or while changes are being sent to ADP.
