Auto-Approving Time Off Requests

Skip the approval step when time off requests are submitted.

For customers of our PTO module.


If you want to track time off requests but don't want to force an approval step, Built lets you turn off the approval requirement for a given policy.

To disable a policy's approval requirement:

  1. Click your company name at the top of the main navigation, then click Company Settings.

  2. Click the Paid Time Off tab.

  3. Click on the policy you'd like to edit, or click Add PTO Policy to create a new policy.

  4. Choose No for the Do requests require approval? question.

    Note: You will be asked who should receive a notification even though the request will be auto-approved.

  5. Click Save.

    Note: If the policy only applies to certain people, you must assign the PTO policy to the appropriate individuals.
