Using iCal feeds to connect your external calendar.

This article explains how to integrate the Built calendar with an external calendar like Outlook or Google Calendar.

1. Copy the iCal URL

Note: Only Company Admins and HR Admins can share the calendar or copy an iCal URL link. To learn more, refer to: Understanding User Roles & Permissions.

  1. Click the Share button on your Built calendar.

  2. From the list of available iCal feeds, click the Copy URL link next to the feed that contains the calendar information you wish to share with an external calendar.

2. Paste the iCal URL into your external calendar

Depending on the calendar you use and its version, the steps for how to add a calendar using a link may vary. You should be able to add any calendar, but you might need to search online for additional instructions.ย 

For Microsoft Outlook: See Video

  1. Open your Outlook calendar.

  2. Click Add Calendar.

  3. Select Subscribe from Web.

  4. Paste the iCal link from Built into the field.

For Google Calendar: See Video

  1. Open your Google calendar.

  2. Click the arrow next to Other Calendars.

  3. Click Add by URL.

  4. Paste the iCal link from Built into the field.

Note: Because Google and Outlook determine how often to synchronize external calendar data, new PTO requests may take up to 24 hours to show on your calendar. To view real-time PTO requests and approvals, navigate to your Built calendar.
