If necessary, you can override the annual amount specified in a PTO policy. This is useful for situations where one or more individuals are exceptions to the PTO policy amounts.
To override the default annual amount for an individual:
Note: Only Company Admins, HR Admins, and HR Managers can adjust accruals. To learn more, please refer to: Understanding User Roles & Permissions.
Navigate to a person's profile by entering their name or title in the Jump to a Profile field and clicking their name in the list that populates.
On the person's profile page, click the Paid Time Off tab.
Click the three-dot menu next to the policy name, then click Edit Accrual Rate.
Enter the annual amount that the individual should earn as a custom accrual rate.
Click Save.
Notes about adjusting accruals:
If the different amounts are based solely on tenure, you might prefer to set up a tiered approval schedule to automatically increase amounts each year.
You can also create more policies and assign PTO policies to individuals. Although we don't usually recommend it, it's technically possible to give each individual their own policy.
