Choose the appropriate option: - **Edit**: Update the name of the variable pay type before clicking **Save**. - **Delete**: To delete a variable pay type, click the **Delete** button to confirm this action. *You cannot delete a variable pay type currently utilized on a compensation record or position budget.* ## Variable Pay Data For each saved variable pay type, Built creates two sets of unique data fields—people compensation fields and position budget fields. For example, if you add a variable pay type called “Bonus,” you’ll find *Bonus* and *Budgeted Bonus* in your org chart’s [Data Options](/v1/docs/applying-org-chart-visualization-tools#data-options) panel. These fields allow you to display a person’s *actual* bonus pay and/or the bonus amount *budgeted* for their position. ### Notes about variable pay data: - *A person’s total compensation (the sum of their base pay rate and total variable pay) includes all variable pay amounts.* - *A position’s budget includes the budgeted base pay rate and total budgeted variable pay.* Please contact our Customer Success Team for additional assistance. ## Additional Resources [Managing a Position’s Budget](/v1/docs/managing-a-position-s-budget) [Managing a Person's Compensation](/v1/docs/managing-people-s-compensation) [Utilizing Custom Fields](/v1/docs/utilizing-custom-fields)
