# Connecting Slack to Built

*For customers new to our Slack integration.*

If your company uses Slack for messaging, you can connect your Slack account to Built to allow employees to access their PTO accounts, submit PTO requests, and more.

## To connect Built and Slack:

1. Reach out to [support@builtapp.com](mailto:support@builtapp.com) to have the Slack integration feature enabled on your account.
2. To connect Built and Slack, you must be an administrator within Built and have permissions within your company Slack account to add apps.
3. In your Built account, hover over your company name in the main navigation and open the dropdown menu to click **Settings**.
4. Click the **Integrations** tab.
5. Click the **Slack** hyperlink.
6. Click the **Connect** button.
7. Complete the authorization step. For the notifications channel, choose a channel where general company announcements would be appropriate.
8. Within your personal Slack account, type /built to verify that Slack is now connected to Built.

## Individual Account Setup

Now that Built is an authorized Slack app, each person can connect their personal Slack account to their personal Built account. To do this, instruct people to type `/built` within Slack. A link will be provided that, when clicked, allows the individuals to authorize Slack to use the Built app.
